Better Collective has taken a big step towards broadening its appeal and fortifying its place in the Danish sports media market with this acquisition.

The acquisition entails a €6.5 million cash and debt-free purchase price that will be paid in three installments. Better Collective expects a post-synergy EBITDA multiple of less than 5x for 2024 and intends to finance the purchase with cash. The post-acquisition financial goals for 2023 have not changed.

With a 75-year history, Tipsbladet is a reputable sports media company that has transitioned from a printed magazine to a cutting-edge internet platform. Tipsbladet.dk will formally become a part of Better Collective, a Danish-based organisation, on October 2, 2023.

"I am very proud that we have acquired Tipsbladet, which for 75 years has been a go-to sports media for many Danes that want to engage with prime soccer content," stated Jesper Søgaard, co-founder and CEO of Better Collective, following the acquisition.

"Since 2007, when I acquired Tipsbladet, I have worked hard to make it a healthy and sustainable business," stated Tipsbladet's former owner, Henrik Stegger Nielsen.

"I've been successful, and Better Collective is by far the best buyer I could have imagined for Tipsbladet. With their goals and skills, I'm sure they'll both take good care of Tipsbladet and help it grow even more."

The oldest football magazine in the Nordics is Tipsbladet, which was established in 1948.

Since its initial launch in 2000, tipsbladet.dk has developed into a one-stop shop for everything soccer-related, including news, articles, previews of upcoming games, betting advice, videos, and analysis.

It counts more than 100,000 followers on major social media networks and receives over 6.8 million monthly visits.
